Amanda is a junior and she is double-majoring in math and biology and minoring in computer science! She is on the pre-med track and hopes to pursue an MD or MD-PhD after graduating. She moved to Charleston, SC from Seattle, WA about two years ago, and she has been part of the Neuroscience Club since her freshman year in fall 2019. In addition to being in the Neuroscience Club, she volunteers at the VA (Veterans Affairs) hospital, and she is part of two research groups: one in the School of Medicine at UofSC, and one at MUSC. When she is not busy with studying for the MCAT or classes, she likes to read, dance, and try out new coffee shops. Amanda loves neuroscience because she is fascinated by how the organization of the brain is related to consciousness and the applicability of neuroscience to a variety of different fields such as artificial intelligence, business, law, and more!
